About Tim Burke
My Story
I’ve enjoyed a somewhat atypical career path, ranging from serving in the United States Army and rescuing hostages to starting two companies. Everything I learned in my past prepared me for my latest venture, LIVETRUE, a growth focused company helping leaders build amazing teams and successful businesses.
I joined the US Army at 17 years old and served for 24 years, 21 of those years in Special Operations. My unit assignments include the 82nd Airborne Division, 7th Special Forces Group, 1st SFOD-D (Delta Force) and C/3/7 Special Forces (CIF) Company.
Over my career, I had the privilege of leading men in combat in Haiti, Colombia, and Iraq. I retired in 2008 and attended the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, becoming a Federalized Police officer. I led the Amtrak Police’s counter terrorism unit based in Los Angeles for three years.
After leaving law enforcement, I served with the Department of Homeland Security for a short time, then moved into the private security sector. Serving as the Vice President of a private company, I continued working with US Special Operations units as they prepared and trained to go overseas on combat deployments.
Then, through performing personal security missions overseas, I rescued 48 clients from bad situations, bringing them safely home. And working undercover for two years, I led rescue missions to free girls
from human trafficking and the sex trade.
After recognizing a need for leadership development in various organizations in which I worked, I launched my new company, LIVETRUE, through which I’m sharing the personal growth and team-building curriculum I developed over my career. The program is based on the idea that growing people, make great teams, which result in successful companies.
